Loewe continues to impress me. Jonathan Anderson, Creative Director, has a penchant for integrating unexpected and whimsical curiosities. The brand releases highly sought-after collaboration collections to much fanfare. Today, I carried my Loewe Puzzle Bag, a favorite in my personal collection that always stands out as different and abstract (perfect for a day at Art Basel).

Though the Puzzle feels as if it’s been around for decades, it was the first release for Jonathan Anderson when he took the helm at Loewe. The cuboid shape features geometrical lines that resemble puzzle pieces coming together, and though this bag has been met with great adoration, it has never felt over-saturated.

One way to make your Puzzle bag speak to your personal taste further is by adding a charm; again, this is where the brand shines. I cannot believe the small puzzle bag is over $3,000 now WTF? Not to mention it looks like the construction of the bag is different. I found this out through information from another website after I googled why the bags looked different and I thought they only did it on the Edge but this appears to have the same construction. The older bags have some pieces that are sewn to a bag base creating separation between the pieces giving it that distinct puzzle piece look and ability to fold while the newer are just pieces sewn to each other…like a poser. Due to the higher price and less focus on design/construction I will be looking for an older version.
Loewe minimizing the classic design puzzle bag (no seasonal design, no new colours, limited sizes) will be its downfall.
I don’t agree with you. In the Christmas collection there are new colours such as bottle green, light blue and burgundy. And the Peeble bag has been launched. Oh, and although prices have risen as in all luxury brands, the Puzzle in Europe is worth 500 dollars / euros meniscee were in the USA. And finally to say that the small size is not so much, any other bag would be called medium.
I don’t think you can say that these bags are expensive when LV, Gucci or Prada have also raised their prices dramatically. And of course I don’t want to compare them with the prices of Chanel or Hermes.
I just might have to treat myself to that gorgeous belt for Christmas!
I have always loved this purse, however, I can’t justify paying that price for some reason.
I love the Puzzle and the collaboration with Suna Fijita but I am going to raise a debate. Original Puzzle bag or Puzzle Edge?? I have a bumbag of the first one and although it is more rigid, the design seems more original and elaborate to me.
I prefer the original as it’s more aesthetically pleasing.
That green is GORGEOUS!! I’ve not pulled the trigger on this bag yet as I’ve had trouble deciding between the small and the medium but ALWAYS knew it would be the tan/natural color UNTIL NOW!! Bottle green is calling my name!!
